Hello!

I am so glad you are here!

My name is Melissa Heyndericks and I am the owner and lead designer at Studio Floralia, a new Wedding and Events florist based in the Northern suburbs of Minneapolis, MN. In the fall of 2015, I closed the doors to my former floral design shop in Northern Minnesota during a time of bitter-sweet growth and change. I redirected my love for all things creative into new areas, and while I was not actively working in the industry, my deep love for nature and growing things continued to flourish.

Today, I stand at the edge of a new adventure with the opening of Studio Floralia. I am a few years older with more life experiences and perspectives to offer. While I've been away from the industry, I have spent time in floral design classes furthering my education so that I can offer the best in style and knowledge to those I work with. I believe in lifelong learning and that we are always growing. In my personal time, I love to travel and read. Exploring the world we live in and hearing the stories people and places have to share has been deeply formative for me as an individual and as an artist. We live in an amazing world.

Floralia was the Roman celebration of the goddess Flora and the roots of May Day can be traced to the festival. Floralia was a time to celebrate rebirth and growth after the cold and dormant months of winter. Based in Minnesota, the nod to Floralia seems fitting. We have our own cycles of life in the cold dormant winters and the often long anticipated thaw and new growth of springtime. As a designer, I am rediscovering my art and rebirth is often on my mind as I dream and create for clients.

At Studio Floralia it is my deepest wish to help my clients tell their stories through floral design. Flowers elevate and bring warmth to events and spaces. We bring flowers to celebrate the addition of children to families and to mark the passing of those we love. Flowers speak the language of love and provide comfort. They are often in the backdrops of most of life's important moments. Flowers help to set a mood and the use of purposeful design will elevate your special event. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and helping you to bring that story to life. Reach out and let's get started!
