At Studio Floralia we love creating fun and whimsical floral designs for your special events. This week I had the opportunity to design for a fall/ Halloween gathering in a private home. There were a number of locations in the home that the host was looking to elevate with flowers. We started with a general idea, and feel for the gathering and built from there.
I designed with a maroon, orange, and yellow color pallet. Wheat stalks were added as a nod to the harvest season. For a bit of surprise, I added little spiders here and there.
A dash of Magic and a bit of Science
Our first focal point was the record table. I paired a bit of magic shown here with the moon phases sign and a cute little design inside of a crystal ball. I found a few fun beakers to round out the collection.
What is Halloween without a few skulls?
As soon as I saw these adorable skulls I knew I needed them for this gathering....because really, what is a Halloween party without a few skulls? I grabbed some raven feathers to accent the look and we placed one in the living room and a couple at the entry to welcome guests as they joined the festivities.
The Cocktail Table
The final area I accented was the cocktail table. The hosts have a special connection to Hendricks Gin and wanted to incorporate their bottles on the table where they would be serving cocktails. We included a fun little apothecary bottle for a home-infused gin and a large table arrangement in a bowl with skeleton hands! The bowl is hard to see in the photos so be sure to watch the little video clip I added below.
